Parents Support & Information Group
The Psychology Department facilitates a Parents’ Information & Support Group (PISG) every Tuesday morning from 8h00 – 9h00. The meetings are help in the Psychology Department meeting room above the music room.
PISG was established in 1999 and has been running very successfully since its inception. It is not to be confused with the Parents Association which exists for a completely different function. The purpose of the Parents’ Information & Support Group is to provide information on a variety of topics which are of interest and benefit to you and your children. The group provides you with the opportunity to develop contacts with other parents, time out for yourself as well as skills development in parenting. All this is gained in the safety and privacy of an informal, friendly and supportive environment.
PISG offers access to an extensive library. Carefully chosen books on parenting, attention deficit, learning difficulties, nutrition and other interesting contemporary topics are available. While we facilitate these meetings its useful to know that the needs and interests of its members drive a support group, so your input is important. We all benefit so much from the collective expertise of members of the group, past Livingstone parents who continue to visit and visiting speakers.
